Dr Emmanuel Meribole
Director, Planning, Research & Statistics
Dr. Emmanuel Meribole is a professional federal civil servant with more than twenty-seven (27) years of experience in public policy development and implementation. He is a public health expert with vast experience in policy and plan formulation and implementation; and monitoring and evaluation with special emphasis on health. He graduated from the University of Benin, Nigeria with an MBBS degree in 1988. He bagged a Masters degree in Public Health in 1998 and another Masters in Environmental Resource Management in 2005. He also has a Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health in the workplace.
He has served in various management capacities both at the disease programme level and top management level in the Federal Ministry of Health (FMoH). He served as the World Bank project manager for workplace response to HIV/AIDS in the capacity of co-chair of public-private partnership forum for the national HIV/AIDS response. He was also co-chair of the inter-agency task team of the National Health Management Information System and other health programmes.
He was Senior Technical Advisor to two (2) Ministers of Health from 2009-2014, and is the Principal Investigator for the Results Based Financing project; the Nigeria State Health Investment Project (NSHIP) and the erstwhile Director in charge of Monitoring and Evaluation at the Federal Ministry of Health.
